Job Summary:
To provide for the maintenanceand repair of GreyStone Power Fleet vehicles and equipment in a safe and properoperating condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects vehicles andline equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program.
- Identifies problems withvehicles and equipment and makes the necessary mechanical repairs.
- Performs diagnosis andrepairs to hydraulic and electronic systems as directed.
- Tunes, rebuilds and/orreplaces engines, drive trains, and equipment as directed.
- Performs welding andfabrication as necessary: safely operating gas and arc welding equipment.
- Performs routine servicework on all vehicles such as changing oil, lubrication, tire work, brakerepair, etc.
- Make road service calls whennecessary.
- Performs majormaintenance rebuilds, remounts and re-certifications on bucket trucks and linetrucks as directed.
- Performs annual DOT truckinspections providing required documentation for files and vehicles.
- Identifies, orders and/orrequisitions the parts and materials required as directed.
- Performs completeoperational testing of vehicles and equipment complying with all company safetystandards and manufacturer’s instructions before completion.
- Prepare written recordsof all maintenance and repairs performed, carefully completing time sheets,service order forms, and any other document required to properly record work.
- Maintains personal toolsas required.
- Maintains a neat andorderly work area.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Requires 5 years ofexperience in vehicle maintenance and mechanic work, or 3 years as a Mechanic Iat GreyStone Power.
- Experience inmedium/heavy truck mechanics and equipment hydraulic systems preferred.
- Must have the ability tooperate vehicle shop equipment.
- Must have physicaldexterity to handle a variety of mechanical tools.
- Must possess or acquire testedcertifications (e.g.; ASE Master, Technical College Diploma, AWS Certification orequivalent).
- Must possess or acquire DOTInspection Certification and a valid Georgia commercial driver’s license.
- Must satisfactorily passGreyStone Power’s employment physical examination and required drug screen.
Physical Demands (if applicable):
- General truck shopenvironment, working while standing most of the day.
- Requires lifting,pulling, and pushing 50 to 150 pounds multiple times per day.
- Climbing on trucks andequipment, bending, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms, levering withlarge wrenches and pry bars.
- Exposed to exhaust fumes,sanding dust, paint fumes and other garage related chemicals.
- Some field work in mud,rain, and snow as needed to repair vehicles or equipment that have broken down.
- Requires the flexibilityto be called to work in company defined disaster situations.Could be required to work any shift.
