Massa Products Corporation Model Shop Technician/Engineering in Hingham, Massachusetts

The Model Shop Technician will work with the engineering department in all phases of prototype development of electromechanical products. The individual will be a key member of the engineering team when setting up new product lines and developing manufacturing processes. The person in this position may be required to assist production temporarily to meet schedule demands.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ability to work with engineering staff to manufacture prototypes and “one-of-a-kind” electromechanical products.

  • Ability to read blueprints and work with CAD drawings.

  • Work from verbal instructions and rudimentary sketches.

  • Help design and construct temporary tools, jigs, and fixtures necessary to fabricate products for engineering prototypes.

  • Must be capable of being certified to solder to IPC standards.

  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to move from job to job quickly.

  • The ability to document and keep orderly records and suggest mechanical solutions to meet the goals of the engineering staff.

Education/Experience:

  • Trade School/Technical education and/or career experience; must possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Knowledge of potting compounds, adhesives, and assembly techniques.

  • Knowledge of electricity/electronics, along with basic math skills.

  • The skill to operate standard machine shop equipment such as lathes and mills is a plus.

  • Proficient use of soldering, hand tools, and assembly methods.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience

Employment with Massa Product Corporation may require an individual to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance of SECRET for this position. Cleared individuals must be U.S. Citizens, pass a background check successfully, and consent to a non-disclosure agreement.
