Robert Half Office Manager in Hillside, New Jersey
Description
Our client in the Hillside area is hiring an Office Manager to support their team. This role is fully on-site; Monday-Friday with flexible hours of 10-5pm/10-6pm.
Please note: Animals/pets are regularly on-site.
Overview:
This position leans more heavily on accounting responsibilities while also managing key HR and payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
QuickBooks (experience is required)
Lead Accounts Payable (AP) processes; weekly check writing
Manage account reconciliations and sales tax for multiple entities
Oversee various insurance policies (auto, business, liability, etc.)
Payroll & HR Responsibilities
Manage onboarding and I-9 processing
Run payroll using ADP (approx. 20-25 employees)
Verify timesheets and handle both commission-based and salaried employees
Administer the 401(k) plan
Maintain HR-related documentation

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced office manager with a strong accounting background looking to join a mission-driven environment.
Benefits are provided and this role is paying between $85-95k base, depending on experience.

Requirements:
Proven experience in an office management or accounting-focused role
Advanced QuickBooks and Excel skills
Experience processing payroll; ADP experience preferred
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Comfort working around animals/pets
