Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description

The Electrician plays a critical role in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and industrial production equipment across our facilities. This role supports plant operations by ensuring safety, reliability, and maximum uptime of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in compliance with local and national electrical codes.

  • Replace, upgrade, and modernize building and equipment electrical systems to improve energy efficiency and maintain code compliance.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions involving power systems, breaker panels, motor controls, relay logic, and lighting systems.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production machinery, material-handling systems, and facility electrical infrastructure using power and hand tools.

  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure continuous operations.

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and electro-mechanical production equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders to diagnose issues and execute repairs.

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as required.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate findings to support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • Must have electrical certification, education, or journeyman certification.

  • 5+ years in electrical manufacturing maintenance.

  • Proficient in performing advanced shop mathematics, accurately measuring and recording dimensions of equipment and parts, and sketching custom parts and tools.

  • Expertise in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions using advanced troubleshooting techniques.

  • Mastery in using powered and non-powered hand tools effectively and safely.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and enter, edit, read, and interpret maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pneumatics, blueprint reading, industrial motors, mechanical maintenance.

  • Skilled in troubleshooting motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, electrical systems, relay logic, PLC troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, maintenance repair, 3-phase systems, electrical troubleshooting, schematics, and installations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $83200.00/yr.
