Job Title: CNC Machine Operator Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning and milling machines, including mills and lathes such as Mori Siekis and Doosans. The role involves utilizing precision measuring tools, using blueprints daily, and adhering to all quality policies and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.

  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to check parts.

  • Use blueprints daily and understand G and M codes.

  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

  • Visually inspect parts to ensure conformance with standards and customer requirements.

  • Inspect tooling for wear and damage.

  • Properly and safely operate equipment and record production daily.

  • Operate one or more CNC machines daily while maintaining all quality and safety requirements.

  • Load and unload machines safely, record production daily, identify and isolate non-conforming products, and assist the team leader.

  • Read and interpret basic technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Assist Set-Up Tech with basic set up and tear down.

  • Maintain near zero scrap throughout the run cycle.

  • Make machine offset adjustments as needed to maintain control.

  • Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of CNC operating experience.

  • Proficiency in machine setup, blueprint reading, and CNC mills and lathes.

  • Understanding of G and M codes, GD&T, and CNC machining.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and machine operation.

  • Strong knowledge of tolerances and inspection techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.

  • Effective communication skills and understanding of work instructions in English.

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation.

  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Mastercam, and Oku.

  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.

Work Environment

Work in a large company with multiple buildings, although you will be based in one building. The work area is set up in cells, so operators will work on more than one machine at a time. The dress code includes jeans and a work shirt.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48860.00 - $58510.00/yr.
