Actalent Quality Engineer/ Supervisor in Hilliard, Ohio
Job Title: Quality SupervisorJob Description
The Quality Supervisor will support a growing manufacturing operation by bringing structure, leadership, and consistency to the quality function, which is currently distributed across multiple departments. This newly created role focuses on building and developing the quality team, standardizing processes, and supporting manufacturing quality initiatives throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
Provide clear leadership and structure to the quality function across the manufacturing operation.
Build, support, and develop the quality team to ensure strong performance and professional growth.
Set goals, performance expectations, and priorities for quality technicians.
Establish, document, and implement standardized quality processes and procedures.
Evaluate future team growth and staffing needs to support business and production demands.
Support manufacturing quality initiatives across the facility to improve product quality and consistency.
Collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, marketing, planning, and other departments to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Use inspection equipment, including calipers and gauges, to verify product quality and adherence to specifications.
Apply strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis, conduct investigations, and propose effective corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and quality-related data to support traceability and compliance.
Read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings to guide quality activities.
Communicate professionally by email and phone with internal and external stakeholders regarding quality matters.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in a Quality Engineer role or a closely related position.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality assurance.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical components and systems.
Strong analytical skills for performing root cause analysis, investigations, and proposing solutions.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
Ability to communicate professionally by email and phone across all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with calipers, gauges, and related inspection equipment.
Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to tolerate long periods of sitting and standing.
Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SolidWorks preferred for reviewing and understanding design models and drawings.
Experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Comfort working closely with design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, marketing, planning, and other functions on a daily basis.
Detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
Strong team player who collaborates effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Experience using inspection equipment and tools in support of quality assurance activities.
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment that includes regular exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and chemicals as described in Safety Data Sheets. Protective clothing and personal protective equipment may be required while working on the production floor. The position involves both office and shop-floor activities, including the use of a computer and electronic equipment for documentation, analysis, and communication. The role requires the ability to tolerate long periods of sitting and standing, as well as regularly lifting and moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
