Systems Administrator
The Systems Administrator is responsible for all aspects of systems administration for the infrastructure team and associated applications in a global environment. Perform a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and monitoring tasks on company servers and other related equipment. Primarily Windows with the critical responsibility to maintain and keep the systems running 24x7x365. Provides support and guidance to help desk support team members and is hands-on as required.
What you’ll be doing:
· Coordinate and participate in key process improvements for all environments throughout the organization.
· Experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure, and the O365 suite.
· Installation, configuration, maintenance of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019.
· Installation, configuration and maintenance of VMware ESXi and Hyper-V environments.
· Experience with designing and implementing Active Directory and related services DNS, DHCP, DFS and GPOs.
· ADFS design and integration with SaaS/Azure and SAML providers.
· Experience supporting Enterprise storage solutions, preferably Data Domain and EMC.
· Designing and implementing Microsoft Clustering and load balancing.
· Participate in the design and review of new Windows systems and Windows application deployments in both workstations and servers.
· Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of Windows systems to meet corporate objectives.
· Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
· Ensure that servers comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
· Implement strategies for integrating Windows and non-Windows operating environments.
· Knowledge of disaster recovery methods and procedures.
· Recommend and execute modifications to Windows systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
· Maintain and audit internal and external security.
· Willingness to participate in on-call rotation during off hours and weekends.
· Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
· Maintains an ongoing in-depth level of professional development to enhance technical skills, communication skills, business knowledge, and knowledge of IT products.
· Other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
· 5 years of experience as System Administrator.
· 5 years of experience with server administration of VMware, Windows Server 2008 R2 - 2016, Hyper-V on WS 2012 R2.
· Experience with variety of storage systems, backup systems and systems automation.
· Experience with VMWare, VCenter, and Hyper-V including design and engineering, as well as advanced administration.
· Experience in virtualization, distributed file systems, data replication between sites, disaster recovery and backup systems.
· Understanding project management practices and principals.
· Previous experience doing IT troubleshooting in a production environment.
· Knowledge of clustering and load balancing.
· Must be capable of leading process improvement efforts, implementing process changes, and improving productivity through process improvement.
· Must be effective at troubleshooting, resolving, and responding to infrastructure issues and problems, coordinating solutions with outside vendors, users, and information technology staff.
· Working knowledge of network and desktop administration in a LAN environment.
· Must work well with defined procedures and has ability to define new procedures; ability to work independently and a good understanding of all aspects of server and network hardware and operating systems.
· Ability to solve complex problems on a daily basis.
· Must be able to build effective relationships at various levels of the business and give excellent service.
Bonus Points:
· Microsoft, VMWare, storage certifications and training strongly preferred.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
