Smurfit Westrock Entry Folder Operator in Hicksville, New York
GENERAL PURPOSE: Set-up and maintain insert folding equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
\u2022 Locates flatstock to make ready for folding inserts and outserts.
\u2022 Performs all required preventative machine maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly).
\u2022 Performs all make readies and minor adjustments to produce inserts.
\u2022 Operates insert folding equipment as needed.
\u2022 Adheres to 6S, SOP\u2019s and work instructions.
\u2022 Makes trays and shippers as needed.
\u2022 Adheres to quality standards.
\u2022 Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
\u2022 High school diploma or G.E.D).
\u2022 Two to three years of related experience and/or training preferred.
\u2022 Must be able to read a ruler
\u2022 Must be able to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
\u2022 Must have the ability to read and write complex instructions, correspondence and memos.
\u2022 Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
\u2022 Must be able to pass a basic reading test.
\u2022 Must have strong mathematical skills.
\u2022 Must have basic computer skills.
\u2022 Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to change.
\u2022 Must be able to work well in a team environment.
\u2022 Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance.
\u2022 Must be able to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
\u2022 Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

The starting rate is $24.92 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
