Job Title: Employee Relations SpecialistJob Description

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting employee relations matters across the organization. In this role, you resolve Tier 1 cases and support Tier 2 investigations, partnering closely with frontline managers to address performance, conduct, and workplace concerns. You ensure accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and contribute to data tracking and reporting that promotes a positive, compliant, and proactive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and resolve Tier 1 employee relations matters, including coaching employees and managers, providing policy guidance, and documenting actions and outcomes.

  • Support Tier 2 investigations involving matters of moderate complexity in partnership with senior employee relations specialists and HR business partners.

  • Partner with frontline managers to address performance issues, conduct concerns, and workplace behavior, offering guidance on appropriate actions and next steps.

  • Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all cases in the case management system, including notes, findings, and resolutions.

  • Follow up promptly on open cases to ensure timely resolution and a positive employee experience.

  • Elevate high-risk, sensitive, or complex cases to senior specialists with clear context, supporting documentation, and recommendations.

  • Contribute to data tracking, trend analysis, and reporting related to employee relations cases to help identify patterns and inform proactive interventions.

  • Collaborate with HR business partners and operational leaders to support consistent application of policies and practices across locations.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of human resources or employee relations experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an HR-related field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations issues, including employee complaints, performance concerns, and basic policy violations.

  • Experience partnering with frontline leaders and HR business partners to resolve employee issues and provide guidance.

  • Proven ability to document case notes, actions, outcomes, and follow-up steps accurately in a case management or similar system.

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and basic employment practices relevant to performance, conduct, and workplace behavior.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and recommendations clearly.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM is preferred.

  • Experience working in a multi-site environment is preferred.

  • Background in an operational setting such as logistics or manufacturing is preferred.

  • Ability to interpret data and trends from case tracking and reporting to support proactive employee relations strategies.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and support leaders at various levels.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday during first-shift hours. You work in a professional office-based or hybrid HR environment, collaborating regularly with HR business partners, senior employee relations specialists, and frontline managers across multiple locations. The role relies on standard office technology and HR systems, including case management tools used for documenting and tracking employee relations matters. The environment emphasizes confidentiality, professionalism, and consistent application of HR policies, with a culture that values proactive problem-solving, clear communication, and support for a positive workplace experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hershey, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $58.00/hr.
