Job Overview

 

The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of field and shop service technicians while ensuring efficient scheduling, highquality repairs, and excellent customer communication. This role oversees daily service operations, coordinates repair activities, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer expectations. The Field Service Supervisor serves as a key liaison between customers, technicians, sales, and internal support teams to ensure timely and costeffective service delivery.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise and coordinate shop and field service repairs, maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and testing of heavy equipment.

  • Develop and manage daily work schedules for technicians to maximize efficiency and meet customer commitments.

  • Create and oversee work orders, including ordering parts and materials, and ensure accurate documentation is provided for work order closure and invoicing in accordance with company policy.

  • Maintain consistent communication with customers by providing repair estimates, recommendations, scheduling updates, completion timelines, and obtaining approvals as required.

  • Oversee the receiving, predelivery inspection, delivery condition, and documentation of new and rental equipment; communicate equipment status to Sales as needed.

  • Coordinate and schedule repairs and services with outside vendors, manufacturers, and thirdparty service providers.

  • Ensure shops, service bays, trucks, tool rooms, and component overhaul/testing areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

  • Maintain responsibility for specialized tooling, including condition, maintenance, and updates.

  • Ensure proper handling, tracking, and retention of failed parts from customer, internal, and warranty repairs in accordance with company guidelines.

     

Qualifications/Requirements

 

Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Equipment Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of5 years of experience as a heavy equipment technician (construction or mining preferred).

Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems.

Demonstrated understanding of heavy equipment products, including specifications, applications, operation, maintenance, testing, and repair.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, technicians, and internal stakeholders.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internetbased applications.

Ability to lead, prioritize, and manage multiple service activities in a fastpaced environment.
