Join a dynamic and innovative team as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing new generations of sensing, real-time processing, and actuation technologies. In this fast-paced and exciting environment, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex mechanical systems from concept to production. This position offers immediate responsibility and hands-on involvement throughout the process, including overseeing parts fabrication, system assembly, and validation testing.
Responsibilities
Develop and design complex mechanical systems from concept to production.
Oversee parts fabrication, system assembly, and validation testing.
Utilize CAD for design and analysis tools such as Excel and MATLAB.
Supervise prototype part fabrication and manage outsourcing to local vendors.
Conduct validation testing at internal and external facilities.
Apply experience to tackle a wide range of design challenges, including manufacturing methods and failure analysis.
Prepare and review production documentation.
Guide and mentor less experienced engineers.
Identify and implement new processes or design approaches to enhance product quality and engineering efficiency.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, MATLAB, and SolidWorks Simulation.
Knowledge of military standards and Microsoft Office.
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with mission-critical military and automotive designs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
This role involves a 70/30 split between in-house design work and off-site testing. Testing may occur in labs or customer sites, with travel required up to two weeks at a time, primarily in rural West Virginia. Candidates should be prepared for periodic travel to onsite testing facilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
