Job Description:
There is an exciting opportunity to join the R&D team as our next Area Quality and Food Safety Specialist. This role is accountable for driving the quality agenda and leading implementation and governance of all Quality and Food Safety requirements. The objective of this role is to achieve and maintain a high standard of food safety performance.
What are we looking for?
Degree in Food Science, Engineering or Chemistry is essential. Experience in a food manufacturing environment or food retail business working in a quality, food safety or process/product development.
Demonstrated knowledge in auditing Quality Management Systems.
Ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally to achieve objectives

What will be your key responsibilities?
Responsible for the quality agenda in the retail value stream (coordination, management)
Interface between Retail Store Operations, Store Leadership Team, Q&FS manager, and new product development as relates to Q&FS.
Drive Q&FS business initiatives and continuous improvement at the retail value stream level including digital quality checks
Lead quality management reviews for retail and support Q&FS Manager in reporting performance to management
Drive Quality Culture in the Retail Space
Development of tools, systems, processes, and training material to support achieving quality food safety in the Retail stores.
Coordinate QMS in the retail value stream (CAPAs, managing nonconformities, internal audits, continuous improvement, document creation & control, training and metrics for key indicators)
Responsible for HACCP program in the Retail Stores
Implement global Mars standards into the retail value stream & drive to full compliance
Manage compliance with any required external standards (e.g. FSSC 22000, GFSI, State Regulatory, R&D Pilot Plant / Test Kitchen)
Govern the GMP/GHP/Good Product Practices (GPP) programs within the retail value stream
First line Q&FS incident management including root cause analysis investigation, handling coordination with outside stakeholders when needed – incident coordinator until RA1
Lead consumer & customer complaints action plan within value stream
Visual Product Quality implementation in the value stream
Label reviews and approval
Technical input for Value Stream related activities (new equipment installation, new processes, etc.)
Change management & risk assessment within retail value stream to ensure food safety
Support manufacturing plant with sensory conformance program
Drive the Internal Audit program for the Ethel M Business
Other duties and responsibilities throughout the store as assigned by Q&FS Manager

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 74,511.00 - USD 102,453.00
