Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Utility Maintenance Aide - Field Operations (Part-Time) in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual labor tasks associated with the routine maintenance and repair of water, sewer, and utility facilities and assists with general warehouse and inventory tasks; and performs related duties as assigned.
SPECIAL NOTE:
The current vacancy is a part-time, PERS-eligible position
This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, wage increases, or union representation.
The work schedule will be Tuesday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:00 pm but can be changed based on Department needs.
The work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or the equivalent
One (1) year of full-time experience performing construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution, reclaimed water, and wastewater collection system
Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by the Nevada Revised Statue (NRS 618.950)
Must obtain and maintain City Forklift Certification within thirty (30) days of hire
Employee will be expected to complete assigned training courses through the City of Henderson's learning management system
All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents’ expense

WORK WEEK
Four-day, 9.5-hour workday, 38-hour work week
Three-day, 12-hour workday, 38-hour work week for certain positions
UNIFORM ALLOWANCE
Uniform Allowance - $85.00 per month to employees required to wear a uniform, or $115.00 if required to wear fire retardant clothing
A $175.00 shoe allowance is provided on an annual basis to those employees required to wear ANSI Z41-1991 or above rated safety shoes
