Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Global Studies and Geography School/Division: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-Social Science Full Time/Part Time: Part-Time Description: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Studies and Geography at Hofstra University. The Department of Global Studies and Geography welcomes applications with prior college-level teaching experience. The Department of Global Studies and Geography offers a wide variety of courses that lead to undergraduate degrees, or are part of a concentration in Pre-Health. The course to be offered covers a study of the environment and peoples of Eastern Europe and the Republics of the former Soviet Union. Emphasis on past territorial changes and recent social, economic and political transitions. The Hofstra University Department of Global Studies and Geography invites applications for a part-time adjunct position to teach the following in-person course in Fall 2026 : Eastern Europe and the Republics of the former Soviet Union ( GEOG 123) — Monday & Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:25 a.m. The course to be offered covers a study of the environment and peoples of Eastern Europe and the Republics of the former Soviet Union. Emphasis on past territorial changes and recent social, economic and political transitions. This is an undergraduate, introductory-level course with enrollment capped at 37 students. The course is in-person only and cannot be taught remotely. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Acting as the instructor of record on a contingent, adjunct basis in the Department of Global Studies and Geography. Qualifications: A master's degree in Geography or a closely related discipline is required. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Geography is preferred. Prior US college-level teaching of a similar course is preferred.
