Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2093 - Farmworkers, Farm, Ranch, and Aquacultural Animals
This position will require worker to perform a variety of duties related to the production of cattle and hay.
Duties include:
Calving
Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures.
Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain.
Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos.
Drive pickups, tractors, 4 wheeler, side by side, motor cycle and other equipment
Move equipment and/or livestock from one location to another,
Worker will assist with associated tasks such as:
Maintain and fix fence as necessary to maintain integrity of the pastures/fields.
Assist with irrigating, haying and servicing equipment.
Assist with planting and harvesting of hay
Loading and unloading bales.
Assist with shipping at the end of the season
Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions common in fields.
Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges).
Worker will be dismissed if caught consuming drugs or alcohol during work hours, or driving equipment after consuming drugs and or alcohol.
