State of Montana IT Systems Administrator in Helena, Montana
TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT)is recruiting for an IT Systems Administrator. This position supports a broad and highly integrated systems environment at MDT. The scope of duties spans endpoint security, identity and access management, server virtualization, transportation-specific field infrastructure, and enterprise applications. Provides support to employees in the main Helena office and in MDT offices across the state. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities. Ensure all materials submitted are selected as “Relevant.” If you need an accommodation with the application process, please contact the HR representative listed below. _Required Education and Experience:_ · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field such as Networking.4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. · Level 3.1 - $44.98/hr: 6 yearsof experience in Windows and Linux systems administration, enterprise application server administration, identity and access management, or a closely related IT systems infrastructure field. · Level 3.2 - $47.12/hr: 8 years of experience in Windows and Linux systems administration, enterprise application server administration, identity and access management, or a closely related IT infrastructure discipline, including demonstrated experience in security configuration, disaster recovery planning, and leadership of large or critical systems projects with agency-wide impact. · Alternative combinations of related experience or education may be considered. _Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:_ · Bulleted list of qualifications Extensive knowledge and experience with the Windows and Linux Operating systems. · Proficiency in the mid-tier server environment. · Familiarity with virtual machine technologies and server configuration automation technologies. _Other Information_ The successful candidate must pass a name-based background investigation as a condition of employment.
