St. Peters Health Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) OR Clinical Lab Technician/MLT - 0.75 FTE in Helena, Montana
Shift: Days for Training, Evenings mostly thereafter
Status: 0.75 FTE
Independently performs routine and special diagnostic procedures on blood and other body fluids from patients of all age groups served by SPH. The position routinely performs waived, moderate and high complexity tesing (with an Associates degree).
Key Responsibilities:
Process, analyze, and document specimens using automated/manual methods
Draw blood or assist with specimen collection and accessioning
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instruments or perform QC and preventive maintenance
Report critical values promptly to clinical teams
Lead or support process-improvement and training initiatives
Provide on-call, weekend, and holiday shift coverage
Qualifications:
Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS): Scientist: Bachelor’s in Medical Technology (or equivalent), national CLS certification and MT licensure within 6 months
Clinical Lab Technician/MLT: Associate’s in Medical Technology (or equivalent), national MLT certification and MT CLT licensure upon hire
One-year experience as a generalist clinical laboratory scientist or technician in a hospital setting preferred.
