As an Senior Assistant (Graduate) Science Platform (all genders) , you’ll have the unique opportunity to turn pioneering science into products that resonate with consumers worldwide. You will be at the forefront, solving complex challenges and collaborating with diverse teams to create groundbreaking formulations and products. This position is limited (for 2 years), with the goal to transform it into a permanent position.

Your responsibilities

Capitalizing on your passion for science, you are working with experts across global Reckitt sites to strengthen our products which are touching millions of lives every single day.

You will …

… forge scientific projects that will support Reckitt´s research pipeline for products across brands and execute them in a combination of external partnering and your own strong hands-on mentality.

… report your results in a concise and structured way to key stakeholders like product development, science platforms and the management.

… deepen your know-how in polymers, formulation science, interfaces characterization, patents, technology landscaping, identification of suitable service providers, research agreements, application tests etc.

… develop your network within different R&D functions creating win-win opportunities.

The experience we're looking for

Professional Skills:

• PhD or master’s in chemistry with strong understanding of colloidal and surface related science (e.g. dispersions and emulsions and/or surface analytics)

• Experience in polymer synthesis or surfactants is an advantage

• Strategic communication skills, being able to adapt messages for different stakeholder Groups / traget audiences

• Proven technical and scientific experience with minimum 3 years of experience in related technical fields or specifically in household products, e.g. disinfectants, surface cleaners, laundry or automatic dishwashing detergents

• Practical experience working with laboratory equipment, analytical techniques, and experimental data

• Experience developing or supporting consumer product formulations or technologies

• Strategic Planning: Willingness to learn and subsequently apply basics of patent law in order to protect innovations for the business and build lasting competitive advantage

Language Skills:

• Very good knowledge of English is necessary (at least B2)

• Fluency in English is advantageous (C1 and above)

• Good German language skills are considered as advantage

Personal Skills:

• Hands-on Mentality: Willingness to perform hands-on work in an industrial laboratory environment with limited technical support, independently exploring and developing new Solutions

• Being able to work in new fields (working with the unknown)

• Team Player: Ability to overcome obstacles by getting support from others and ability to team up with others to create win-win situations

• Creativity: Open minded, creative and lateral thinker – ability (and wish!) to truly understand a technical challenge and ability to propose a set of potential solutions

• Self-driven: Self-motivated learner and ability to operate with limited direct supervision

• Microsoft Office (intermediate level)
