Northern Montana Textile Services Washing Machine Attendant in Havre, Montana
As a Washing Machine Attendant, you will be responsible for the initial stages of high-volume textile processing, ensuring that all items are correctly categorized and cleaned to meet quality standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires constant movement, heavy lifting, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The workday begins as early as 5:00 AM and continues until all scheduled inventory is processed, typically concluding in the afternoon once the washing phase is complete. Job-Specific Duties: • Sorting & Inspection: Examine and sort articles into lots based on color, fabric type, dirt content, and the specific cleaning technique required. • Machine Loading: Load articles into commercial washing machines manually, ensuring machines are balanced and optimized for production. • Chemical Management: Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, and starches to machines, and turn valves or levers to regulate water volume and temperature. • Stain Pre-Treatment: Determine spotting procedures and apply appropriate solvents or bleaching powders to treat heavily soiled items before washing. • Physical Handling: Perform general physical activities including stooping, walking, and moving heavy materials throughout the facility. This job will be 35 -- 40 hours per week, depending on work volume and employee demand. Starting pay ranges from $15.50 -- $17.50 depending on experience.
