Description
We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support receivables and recovery efforts for a long-term contract opportunity. This position focuses on managing outstanding balances, maintaining accurate account records, and communicating with customers to secure timely payments. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of collection practices, billing follow-up, and account reconciliation, along with experience using QuickBooks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage assigned accounts receivable balances and take timely action to recover outstanding payments.
• Contact commercial and consumer customers by phone and email to resolve past-due invoices and secure payment commitments.
• Record collection activity, payment arrangements, and account updates accurately in QuickBooks and related tracking tools.
• Investigate billing issues, review account histories, and coordinate with internal partners to address disputes that may delay payment.
• Monitor aging reports regularly and prioritize follow-up efforts based on risk, balance, and payment status.
• Reconcile account information to ensure invoices, credits, and payments are reflected correctly.
• Escalate delinquent accounts when necessary and support next-step recovery actions in line with company procedures.
Requirements • Experience in collections with exposure to both commercial and consumer accounts.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and debt recovery practices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks for account review, payment tracking, and documentation.
• Understanding of billing collection procedures and dispute resolution methods.
• Ability to communicate professionally and confidently when handling sensitive payment matters.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and follow-up deadlines effectively.
