Summary:
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is actively seeking caring and energetic Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community-based residential setting in Hattiesburg, MS. The Direct Support Professional position plays an important part in providing assistance in daily living activities, accompanying Pine Belt Mental Health's consumers on outings in the community, and supporting treatment plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
Supervised Living Services provide individually tailored supports which assist with the acquisition, retention, or improvement in skills related to living in the community. Learning and instruction are coupled with the elements of support, supervision and engaging participation to reflect the natural flow of learning, practice of skills, and other activities as they occur during the course of a person's day. Activities must support meaningful days for each person. Activities are to be designed to promote independence yet provide necessary support and assistance.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must be able to obtain MS CDL Class D Driver's License within 30 days of hire
Valid Mississippi Driver's License with clean driving record required (no moving violations within 3 year period)
Use of personal transportation required to provide services in the community
Will need auto liability insurance limits of 100,000/300,000/50,000 within one month of hire
Experience working with the IDD population preferred
Experience assisting others with ADLs preferred
Will pass CPR, MANDT, and other required testing
Responsibilities:
Accompanies and transports clients on outings in the community, work, or other activities.
Assists clients with learning independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, and social skills.
Completes all required documentation on time and by PBMHR standards.
Supports goals and plans made with clinical staff to enhance quality of life.
