Trane Technologies Grinder (1st shift) in Hastings, Nebraska

Grinder (Disassembler)

Essential Functions: Load, unload, inspect, clean and pre-treat parts and assemblies in the paint area. Grind frames to print in the grinding room.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred

Certifications: Forklift, if necessary

Quality Metric:

  • Scrap Dollars

  • Rejected or reworked ground parts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass respiratory physical

Introductory Level: Primary focus is learning the process

  • Successful completion of introductory period (6 months)

  • Understands, accepts, and supports vision and key business goals

  • Basic understanding, support and commitment to the team and continuous improvement

  • Resolves the problems at the lowest level possible

  • Identifies possible solutions when communicating problems

  • Understands the importance of safety, quality, delivery and cost

  • Responsive to internal and external customer needs

Essential Functions (Maximum Timeframe 6 months)

  • Demonstrate ability to set up and run basic operations in specific department(s) with assistance.

  • Demonstrate ability to make minor adjustments on related machinery and/or equipment, with assistance.

  • Able to properly inspect, load and unload the paint system (racks, trees, chain spacing, etc)

  • Able to properly prepare parts for the paint system (sanding, plugging, eye bolts, etc)

  • Able to inspect frames for pinholes, missing welds, etc.

  • Understand and follow the work instructions and quality standards for the department

  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with parts being produced with assistance, while meeting the productivity requirements of the department.

  • Have a basic understanding of documentation (examples include ISO, windchill, Kanban and TKS’s).
