Trinity Health Telemetry Lead Registered Nurse RN in Hartford, Connecticut

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center , the Registered Nurse – Cardiac Monitor Lead provides clinical leadership for cardiac monitoring services and ensures accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms for patients on telemetry. This role serves as a clinical resource and mentor, supports regulatory and quality standards, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to promote patient safety, excellent outcomes, and compassionate care.

What You Will Do

  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry monitoring systems

  • Recognize, validate, and escalate abnormal rhythms and life-threatening arrhythmias in a timely manner

  • Communicate critical findings promptly to bedside nurses, providers, and rapid response teams

  • Accurately document rhythm interpretations, communications, and interventions in the electronic medical record

  • Support patient-centered care plans related to cardiac monitoring and telemetry needs

  • Serve as the clinical lead and subject matter expert for cardiac monitoring/telemetry operations

  • Provide mentoring, education, and ongoing clinical support to cardiac monitor technicians

  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on monitoring accuracy, response times, workflow efficiency, and patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of critical care nursing background in cardiac telemetry

  • Prior experience as a telemetry lead, charge nurse, or clinical preceptor

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ECG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition

Preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmia management

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred (certification support available post-hire)

  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills

Position Highlights

  • Full-time, 36 hrs/Night Shift

  • Every other weekend /holiday rotation

  • Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95
