What you’ll do
Conduct safety audits and observe field activities
Coach teams on proper safety techniques and procedures
Lead toolbox talks and site-specific training
Support root cause investigations of incidents
Ensure crews are in compliance with PPE and job-specific hazards
Document observations and report non-compliance
Monitor usage of equipment and safety tools
Coordinate with supervisors to improve safety performance
Provide input on policy updates based on observations
Travel between sites to maintain regional safety presence
What you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
3–5 years of experience in field safety or utility safety oversight
Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations
Valid driver’s license; must travel to various job sites
Additional qualifications (if applicable)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at individual level and in group
Ability to maintain records in well-organized manner
Must maintain a satisfactory driving record while in the position, as consistent safe driving behavior is essential when training or setting an example for others
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely: Climb stairs, complete and maintain training, use keyboard/mouse, lift 10–25 pounds, stand, walk, work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles
Occasionally: Lift 26–55 pounds, bend/stoop, perform repetitive hand movements, use portable ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery
