POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager assists the Manager with the day-to-day operations of Nature’s Wonders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists the manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategies and procedures.

• Coordinates retail operations such as schedules staff, opens and closes the store, ensures employees duties are being fulfilled and objectives are being met.

• Reviews sales data and assists in strategizing to improve in areas.

• Assures smooth operation of daily sales, point of sale practices, orders, payments.

• Observes and ensures customer service policies are being upheld and practiced by all staff.

• Works with the Director of Purchasing to assure spending budgets are being honored and inventory is maintained.

• Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best.

• Coaches and supports staff as needed to maintain an optimal work environment.

• Handles complaints from customers and diffuses challenging situations.

• Actively involved in all departments ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

• Runs daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for review, focusing on areas of improvement.

• Attends local events and represents the company in a professional manner.

• Assists HR Coordinator with communicating information related to employee disciplinary actions, evaluations, terminations, etc.

• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills

• Experience in a customer service environment

• Excellent self-motivation and initiative while unsupervised

• Previous management experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at once.

• Ability to move freely around your workspace.

• Sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, bending, crawling, and climbing may be necessary physical requirements for this position.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
