Job Description
We are looking for a Program Manager to manage and oversee large programs from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery within defined timelines, budget, and scope. This position will be a contract and remote.
Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Manage large programs from initiation to closure, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery within defined timelines, budget, and scope
Develop program charters with sponsors and stakeholders, outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budgets, and timing
Adjust program budgets as needed, working closely with sponsors
Actively report on program plans, budgets, scopes, resources, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies
Present program status updates to PMO, steering committees, and major stakeholders
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members and negotiate personnel acquisition with functional managers when required
Assess program risks and issues, providing solutions where applicable
Manage resource allocation and track project recovery per fiscal quarters
Identify program benefits/value and ensure post-delivery realization with sponsors/stakeholders
Contribute to process improvement through participation in PM Playbook, PM council, lessons learned, and other initiatives
Provide program wrap-up reports and marketing slides, presenting overviews to DES leadership during project closure reviews
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or local equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional-level experience
Proven ability to manage programs from initiation to closure while meeting defined timelines, budget, and scope
Experience in portfolio management, budgeting, and program delivery
Proficiency with tools like Planisware and JIRA system
Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
Preferred:
PMP or SCRUM Master certification
Familiarity with DES PM guidelines and processes
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend virtual meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
