Hamilton Health Center Certified Nursing Assistant in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory care clinic setting to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. The CNA supports providers and clinical staff by escorting patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, assisting with examinations, performing point-of-care testing, and supporting clinical documentation. This role is performed under the supervision of a Medical Assistant, Clinic Supervisor/Manager, and medical providers, while adhering to standards of care and all Hamilton Health Center policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:
Review provider schedules and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) templates in preparation for team huddles
Escort patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and support efficient patient flow
Measure and document vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature
Assist providers during examinations and procedures as a standby assistant
Perform assigned point-of-care testing (POCT)
Clean and prepare exam rooms before and after each patient visit, following protocols for reusable medical equipment
Maintain appropriate stock levels of medical supplies in exam rooms, ensuring proper storage, dating, and safety
Schedule routine follow-up appointments and contact patients who miss appointments, documenting in the EMR
Answer incoming calls and route clinical questions and results appropriately
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Practice safety, environmental, and infection control procedures per protocol
Educate patients on available services in alignment with the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model
Comply with Hamilton Health Center clinical, employee, and compliance policies
Support Quality Department protocols and regulatory agency requirements
Participate in Hamilton Health Center productivity and revenue-cycle efforts

Travel between service areas and satellite sites with minimal notice as required
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program
Successful completion of the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP)
Current Pennsylvania certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), required
Current CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional medical, administrative, or physician office setting, preferred
