Overview: The Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills is seeking Physical Therapists in Harris, NY.
A registered professional Physical Therapist who is responsible for assessing Physical Therapy needs, for performing patient assessments and reassessments, for performing Physical Therapy procedures on patients as ordered, and for revising the patients therapeutic plan of care as needed. The staff Physical Therapist is also responsible for assisting in the direction of Physical Therapist Assistants.
Minimum Education: Certificate, B.S., Masters graduate from an approved school of Physical Therapy, tDPT or DPT.
Minimum Experience: One year experience preferred.
Required Certification/Registration: Licensed and registered in New York State with one year experience preferred or possession of a New York State limited permit. A physical therapist practicing under a limited permit will have 6 months from the date of issuance of the limited permit to successfully pass the New York State licensing examination.
Physical Exam and Reference check are required. Physical Requirements: Position will primarily be medium to heavy work requiring lifting in excess of 25 pounds. Requires physical capacity to transfer and/or assist in the transfer of a variety of patients, transport bulky equipment safely, and consistently practice proper body mechanics. Will require bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Requires 20% sitting and 80% standing. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required. Work week days vary with department requirements.
Skills needed to perform the job: Critical thinking skills, Prior PT experience with Inpatient & Outpatient, Teamwork, and Able to Multi-Task
Shift, Salary, and Benefits: Hiring for part time to full time positions, Monday to Sunday, all shifts available, shifts offering PDM to Fulltime. $75,400 to $94,250 annually. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, holidays, and 401k / Retirement.
