Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm

What You'll Do
Safe Transport: Move patients safely from pre-op holding to the OR and from the OR to the PACU (Recovery), ensuring all safety rails and straps are secure.
Positioning Assistance: Help the surgical team lift and position patients on the operating table using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
Patient Dignity: Maintain patient privacy and comfort during transfers and positioning.
Terminal Cleaning: Perform rapid and thorough "turnover" cleaning between surgeries, including mopping floors and disinfecting all high-touch surfaces.
Waste Management: Safely dispose of biohazardous waste (red bags), sharps containers, and regular trash according to OSHA protocols.
Equipment Disinfection: Clean and sanitize specialized equipment such as anesthesia machines, cautery units, and surgical lights.
Setup & Preparation: Pull necessary equipment for upcoming cases, such as Jackson tables, stirrups, or arm boards.
Stocking: Keep the OR sub-sterile rooms and supply carts fully stocked with scrubs, masks, linens, and fluids.
Gas Cylinders: Monitor and replace medical gas cylinders as needed.
Specimen Transport: Deliver lab specimens, blood components, or tissue samples to the pathology lab immediately and accurately.
Sterile Field Awareness: Move carefully around the sterile field to avoid contamination while assisting the circulating nurse.
Emergency Response: Respond quickly to "code" situations or emergency calls to run for extra supplies or blood products.
Communication: Maintain constant contact with the OR front desk and circulating nurses to prioritize tasks based on the surgery schedule.
What We're Looking For
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience Required: 1 year of previous experience preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification: RQI Responder – must obtain within 90 days of hire, required.
Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Understands and practices the importance of proper cleaning and disinfecting of anesthesia equipment; inventory and ordering ability in order to meet supply and demand; some knowledge of anesthesia equipment and medical terminology.
