Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial integrity of our organization. You will be responsible for the monthly reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts and payroll and operating bank accounts. You will also prepare recurring and ad-hoc journal entries required for the month-end close and perform income statement analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct month-end close of the general ledger.

  • Assist with interim and year-end audits.

  • Manage accounting for special projects.

  • Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Analyze and resolve monthly balance sheet variances.

  • Prepare income statement analysis and schedules by comparing actuals to budget and prior periods.

  • Reconcile and review bank accounts.

  • Hold team members, peers, and supervisors accountable.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.

  • Experience with general ledger and reconciliation.

  • Ability to manage month-end close processes.

  • Proficient in preparing journal entries.

  • Strong skills in Excel, including V-Lookups, X Look-Ups, Pivot Tables, and Macros.

  • Experience with financial software such as Fusion.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. After six months, there is an opportunity to gain one remote workday. We offer a people-first, team-driven culture with strong support for career growth and internal mobility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
