Actalent Corporate has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist II at our Global Headquarters in Hanover, MD.
Hours: Full Time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $56,000 + $1000 Quarterly Bonus Potential
Role Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist II is responsible for overseeing the processing of payroll for Actalent Services internal payroll. This position performs daily data entry, conducts detailed auditing to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, and works closely with the Sr. Payroll Manager on complex payroll matters.
Essential Functions
Process accurate on-cycle and off-cycle payroll for Actalent Services
Collaborate with Actalent Services support teams to resolve payroll-related issues
Perform pre-payroll and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy for all payroll cycles
Work closely with the payroll team to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule
Process and administer Leave of Absence requests
Provide backup support for other payroll functions when team members are unavailable
Communicate payroll policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters including deductions, taxes, and direct deposit
Escalate complex issues to the Sr. Payroll Manager as needed
Qualifications | Skills | Abilities
Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated customer service skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation
Per Pay Transparency Acts: The range for this position is $56,000 - $66,000 + bonus potential of up to $4,000 per year
