Job Title: Business Development Manager - Scientific ServicesJob Description
The Business Development Manager is a strategic sales and market leader responsible for securing new business in Laboratory Services. This role demands a goal-oriented individual with a proven track record in Life Sciences contract or service business. The manager will be accountable for revenue generation and the growth of new business across large national accounts.
Responsibilities
Identify new Lab Services opportunities within target accounts.
Provide expertise on competitive landscape in scientific services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Utilize consultative selling techniques to increase market/customer share.
Collaborate with technical lab and clinical teams to define business targets for growth in Life Science verticals.
Partner with internal selling teams to meet the strategic needs of national clients.
Engage corporate functions to ensure proper functioning in large-account setups.
Manage account plans and perform root cause analysis to address gaps in performance.
Build relationships with operations and sales support to align new business needs with client strategy.
Achieve growth goals by upselling current accounts and acquiring new ones.
Interface with customers to build relationships with executive sponsors and key decision makers.
Navigate sales processes, presentations, contracts, and negotiations with strong business acumen.
Facilitate partnerships between Service pillars to maximize business opportunities and efficiency.
Essential Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in sales/business development within the bio-pharma/biotech sector.
Minimum 3 years of experience in life sciences/technical services sales.
Proven experience in selling clinical solutions and lab service offerings.
Ability to collaborate with internal partners and subject-matter experts.
Excellent communication skills for executive presentations.
Ability to identify customer goals and align them with company solutions.
Experience with sales/CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience offering lab validation and quality assurance solutions is highly preferred.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to travel regionally up to 50%.
Work Environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Hanover, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
