Cognizant Deskside Support Technician (d/f/m) limited to 1 year in Hannover, Germany

About the role

As a Deskside Support Technician (d/f/m), you will make an impact by ensuring seamless IT support and operational excellence for end users across the organization. You will be a valued member of the IT Services team and work collaboratively with field engineers, support analysts, and cross-functional departments.

In this role, you will:

  • Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability for end users

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues for Windows workstations and provide mobility support/management

  • Utilize SCCM 2012 and O365 at a practitioner level for remote installation and management of applications

  • Repair or replace damaged hardware (laptops, desktops, iPads) and upgrade systems to meet client standards

  • Manage inventory, forecast hardware needs, and track vendor shipments for timely delivery

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Burgwedel, Lower-Saxony.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Experience in end user computing and field services

  • Proficiency in SCCM 2012, O365, and command languages for remote management

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues

  • Basic network skills (rack and stack, power readings, cable testing, hardware reboots, maintenance)

  • Fluent in German and English (Language level C1-C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR))

  • This role requires regular travel to client sites. A valid driver’s license is required to perform these duties.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience with ticket/queue management and error reporting

  • Ability to establish rapport across departments and provide first-line support

  • Experience in inventory management and shipment tracking
