Hours: 50 hours per week Monday - Friday 7:00A.M - 5:00P.M and Saturday 7:00A.M - 12:00P.M

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and primarily John Deere self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, beets, soybeans, edible beans; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Move snow; Regulate conditions including picking rocks and removing weeds from edible bean fields; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position tote bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers. Approximate staggered entry: 8 workers to begin Feb 15 and 6 workers to begin July 21.

Minimum Education Required

No High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum Experience Required

One (1) month recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.

Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record.

This job involves manual labo, lifting 50 lbs, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive sitting and walking, frequent stooping or bending over and repetitive movements.

Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
