Part-Time Direct Care Associate - Residential Behavioral Health

Hourly Pay: $20.04

Shift Differential: Additional $2.50 per hour for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts worked.

Work Schedule: Every other weekend (Sat and Sun) 8a-4:30p, 4:00p-12:30a, 12:00a-8:30a

Join our team as a Direct Care Associate and support adults living with serious mental illness in a structured residential mental health program. Help individuals maintain stability, build independent living skills, and successfully remain in the community.

Position Overview:

The Direct Care Associate provides direct care, supervision, and support to individuals living with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders in an intensive residential treatment setting. Working closely with the Program Supervisor and interdisciplinary treatment team, you will support daily activities, monitor client progress, and help implement individualized service plans (ISPs) in a safe and therapeutic environment.

This position is part of the MH Regional Supervised Housing Program, which aims to reduce psychiatric hospital stays by providing a supportive living environment that maximizes independence and personal choice. Staff assist clients with daily living, engagement in treatment, access to medical and financial benefits, and participation in day activities such as psychosocial programs, vocational opportunities, volunteer work, or employment, all tailored to each individual's goals and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care, supervision, and support in a residential mental health setting.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, personal care, and community integration.
  • Monitor behavior, health, and progress toward treatment goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with program and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ensure client safety, protect rights, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of direct care experience working with adults living with serious mental illness.
  • Valid Virginia State Driver's License.
