Serenity Hospice Care In-Patient Unit Coordinator in Hamilton Township, New Jersey

Serenity Hospice Care is seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our Inpatient Unit team. As the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, this role plays a vital part in creating a warm and welcoming environment while supporting daily administrative operations.

Position Summary

The Receptionist serves as the face of our Inpatient Unit, ensuring smooth front desk operations and providing exceptional customer service in a sensitive healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and compassionate manner

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally

  • Manage visitor check-in procedures and maintain security protocols

  • Coordinate communication between clinical staff and families as needed

  • Maintain patient records, files, and confidential documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations

  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries

  • Maintain an organized and welcoming reception area

  • Provide general clerical support including scanning, copying, faxing, and data entry

  • Assist leadership and clinical teams with additional administrative duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Previous receptionist or administrative experience, preferably in healthcare or hospice setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism in sensitive situations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
