Your responsibilities The Warehouse Supervisor Shipping & Receiving is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient flow of all inbound and outbound materials through the dock and receiving areas. This role provides direct leadership to Shipping/Receiving Team Leaders and associates, ensuring inventory accuracy, on-time shipment performance, regulatory and customer compliance, and adherence to safety and 6S standards. The Supervisor drives continuous improvement of dock operations, coordinates cross-functional priorities, and establishes and monitors performance metrics to support overall warehouse and production objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates a passionate commitment to safety and builds a strong safety culture within Shipping and Receiving. Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental policies and leads investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for incidents and near misses. Leads, coaches, and develops Shipping/Receiving Team Leaders and associates to achieve operational, safety, quality, and service goals. Owns end-to-end dock operations including inbound receiving, outbound shipping, staging, and yard/dock flow to ensure on-time and accurate movement of materials. Establishes, monitors, and drives performance metrics such as dock-to-stock time, on-time shipment, receiving accuracy, inventory accuracy, and trailer turn time. Plans and adjusts staffing and schedules to meet fluctuating inbound and outbound volumes and changing business priorities. Ensures accurate and timely system transactions in SAP/WMS for all receiving and shipping activities to maintain real-time inventory integrity. Partners with Scheduling, Material Planning, Production, Quality, and Customer Service to prioritize urgent receipts and shipments and resolve constraints. Oversees vendor and carrier dock scheduling and performance, ensuring compliance with appointment times and shipping/receiving requirements. Ensures compliance with customer-specific shipping requirements, labeling, documentation, and routing instructions. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce handling, improve flow, and increase productivity in dock and staging areas. Ensures proper investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies, inbound non-conformances, and shipping errors. Maintains high standards of warehouse organization and 6S in all shipping, receiving, and staging areas. Ensures associates are properly trained and certified on material handling equipment and standard operating procedures. Reviews and approves documentation required for receiving, shipping, and accounts payable support. Recognizes and reinforces positive performance and holds team members accountable to standards and expectations. Communicates daily priorities, performance results, and issues to warehouse and plant leadership. Supports and leads audits of inbound and outbound shipments to verify accuracy and compliance.
