Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech Position - Environmental Services George C. Grape Community Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech.

In this position, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital. Your responsibilities will include performing a variety of cleaning tasks, adhering to sanitation standards, and ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, such as patient rooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas, such as hallways, waiting areas, and lounges.

Additional Responsibilities include:

• Vacuum and shampoo carpets, machine scrub floors, stripping and waxing floors.

• In patient rooms you will be striping and making beds, washing and drying linens, putting away lines and unload linen carts.

• Adhere to established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines.

• Restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other necessary items as required.

• Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.

• Follow AHE standards and Hospital policies and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services is preferred but not required.

• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks; including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.

• Hours: 10:00am-6:30pm. Rotating weekend (every 4th weekend) and holiday shifts with team members.
