What is the Job all about?
This job will be responsible for handling providing administrative support to categories related to sourcing and relationship activities in close cooperation with the Category Manager.
You will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager based in China and will be assigned to work in Hamamatsu, Japan.
Your main responsibilities:
◆ Value based sourcing related activities:
Responsible cluster of local categories
Execution of sourcing strategies by using the existing Purchasing Tools.
Responsible for the tendering process (e RFI & RFQs and e-auctions).
Support the creation updating of contracts
Responsible for price and contract negotiations
◆ Operational Procurement Management related activities
Responsible for Vendor master data
Responsible for updating Purchasing conditions
Support daily problems solving at site of plants
Improve supplier
◆ Supplier Relationship Management related activities:
Monitor the performance of suppliers (e.g. on-time deliveries, quality).
Prepare and participate in follow-up with suppliers on performance against target and agreed development activities.
Support the follow-up on improvement initiatives.
Support classification of suppliers.
Participate in developing the SRM strategies for key suppliers and relevant collaborative suppliers.
Be part of a team of cross-functional key stakeholders.
Project management. Lead multiple projects given by manager
Your background:
◆ Must have:
At least 3 years’ experience in similar work (purchasing).
Relevant commercial or technical education, mechanical part purchasing experience (especially casting part purchasing)
Knowledge of best practices and relevant practices, systems in administration and business support preferable from purchase.
Language proficiency
English: Able to conduct basic business communication (emails & meetings, TOEIC 600+ or equivalent)
Japanese: Fluent (native-level proficiency)
◆ Preferably to have:
Mature negotiation skills
Experienced in collaboration and communicating
Project management experience
Fluent in Chinese
