Description
Purpose
Performs the pick-up and delivery of all customer equipment, for service at the dealership.
Delivers new customer equipment and orientates customer on maintenance procedures and how to operate the machinery.
Assembles and services all types of equipment offered for sale by the dealership and prepares equipment for delivery to the customer or for demonstration purposes.
Operates vehicles to transport parts, equipment and supplies for the dealership.
Essential Duties
Performs pre-delivery inspection on all types of equipment and other merchandise offered for sale by the dealership
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required in the delivery and set-up process
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
May participate in Service education/training required for the development of skills and knowledge
Performs any other duties assigned by the Service Manager
Assists Warehouse Personnel and Service Technicians as required
Light Mechanical work in shop including mower blade and saw chain sharpening, oil changes and entry-level tune-ups
Transports equipment, parts and supplies to/from customer and/or between dealer facilities
Instructs customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required
Performs light maintenance and equipment switchovers for customers in the field
Maintains records of pickup and deliveries and obtains necessary signatures and receipts
Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policies
Assists customers with loading and unloading equipment
Assists with attaching, loading and moving of trailers as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
Ability to operate vehicles, tools and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up processes
Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturers pre-delivery instructions
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
Valid drivers license required with a good driving record
Valid DOT Medical Card
Fork lift experience preferred
Ability to work varying shifts including an occasional Saturday, if needed
