Overview
As the Sr. Factory Manager in the Factory Management (FM) team within Microsoft Device group, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing manufacturing strategies to drive the supply base towards Best-in-Class Manufacturing practices.
To be successful in this position, this individual must effectively collaborate with both the contract manufacturer and a variety of peer groups across the organization, including, but not limited to New Product Introduction, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Test Engineering, Quality, and Hardware Development. The candidate should also be a strong team player who motivates peers/team, drive root causes analysis to derive actionable data and implement corrective actions timely (by identifying clear problem ownership and take leadership to drive issues closure with various functional teams and supplier), communicates status with peers, clients and other stakeholders and quickly resolves issues that impede business progress.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead a team of technical resources or leverage subject matter experts (SMEs) from other teams to drive actions across internal functional groups and suppliers to ensure:
Continuity of supply.
Product quality.
Achievement of end-to-end process yield targets.
Compliance with product and social responsibility standards.
Factory Management
Oversee all facets of supplier/factory operations.
Manage Statements of Work, ensuring supplier compliance with contractual obligations.
Ensure continuity of supply and adherence to product quality standards.
Drive the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and tools to support operational excellence.
Manage SKU and BOM accuracy, product end-of-life (EOL) transitions, and excess/obsolete materials.
New Product Supply Management
Serve as the gatekeeper for PV (Production Validation) exit.
Manage capacity and resources to ensure production meets ramp-up plans.
Cost Management
Oversee factory budgets (Other Manufacturing Costs).
Develop and execute cost reduction strategies through process and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
A BA/BS, or technical degree in a related field, experience in working in the factory environment, a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated work experience and in-depth understanding of the technologies specific to consumer electronics are considered significant plusses.
Ability to interact with Sr. management (internal and external).
Program/project Management.
High volume consumer electronics manufacturing.
Broad understanding of the hardware manufacturing industry, business and legal intricacies.
Experience and knowledge in factory operations (end to end).
Well-rounded skill set (Engineering, Supply Chain, Compliance, product knowledge, finance, people management).
Negotiation skills and the ability to participate in the closure of complex manufacturing problems.
Outsourced manufacturing management.
Experience working with engineers and product development professionals.
Experience directly managing and leading a technical team.
Manufacturing Materials Management.
