1 year Assignment:

This role exists to enable the creation of the cluster demand plan(s) that will be created for the Mars Wrigley segment led organisation. The demand plans are critically important for the organisation because they are used as the basis for decision making in the signature processes, S&OP+ and S&OE.

The job holder will own the creation of the consensus forecast for the cluster, for the required horizon. The job holder will lead their team in assessing historical actual trends, future statistical trends, identifying the primary year on year forecast drivers, evaluating risks and opportunities, and managing upside and downside scenarios in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Category and Finance teams.

They will be accountable for ensuring the respective Sales Director(s) will sign off the total plan including the Category, Sales or Marketing assumptions that will form the building blocks of the demand plans.

The job holder will lead a team of associates located across the cluster. Requiring some remote line management. They will be expected to manage a variety of senior stakeholders. Their LM, the market collaboration director will report into regional Enterprise Planning organisation. The role will have a dotted reporting line to the Supply Chain Director of the respective cluster. And will need to build the confidence of the local management teams including the Sales Directors.

What are we looking for?

  • BSc or BA in business, supply chain management, science and/or engineering. Master or advanced degree (sciences or business) preferred.

  • 5 years of demand management experience for a global or multi-plant CPG/FMCG company.

  • 5 years of experience in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). Fluent in English (written and oral).

  • E2E understanding of Supply Chain with detailed experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, S&OP, Inventory Management

  • Ability to present complex analysis in understandable forms to business stakeholders including the ability to articulate the needs of the business and the customers to supply chain stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a matrix structure.

  • Ability to listen to others and link to others’ ideas.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy.

  • Experienced people leadership.

What will be your Key Responsibilities?

  • Owns the Consensus forecast for the Cluster taking onboard the system input (and forecasting analyst inputs where applicable) as the major building block for their portfolio in periods for the full horizon to drive the supply plan.

  • Ensures that demand plans are shared/received in the format, level of detail, accuracy and timing required by all business stakeholders and supply chain partners, with documented assumptions, to achieve the various business objectives.

  • Owns the agenda for the DMR meeting in the cluster by deriving the critical conversations from the consolidated input into the cycle.

  • Provides the insights for the consensus forecast across the full horizon to the DMR.

  • Conducts health checks and ensures that the demand planning and DMR feeder processes are sustained at the intended maturity level with adherence to the relevant periodic standards.

  • Challenges peers and colleagues and surfaces tensions to ensure that assumptions reflected in the demand plans are robust and realistic.

  • Leads the team, ensuring follow through to ensure improved performance over time.

  • constrained and controlled lines, leads the team to highlight imbalances between demand and supply and follows through with Sales on demand shaping customer choices, ensuring deployment to protect service.

  • Provides input to the WBR and SCEM Meetings. Connects both these forums to the DMR.

  • Ensures that the MCL team understands the S&OE processes and adjusts the forecast to reflect agreed WBR (risks and opportunities) • supports implementation of these initiatives through their associates.

  • Attends other S&OP+ step and feeder forums as expected, such as the IR, One Demand or Cell meetings. Represents the demand plan assumptions, risks and opportunities to ensure senior leadership understanding of the plan.

  • Escalates where Continuous Improvement is required to support their team in delivering their agenda.

  • Develops talent and drives the HPC and engagement agenda.

  • Coaches any Senior MCL who will be responsible for running additional DMRs in the cluster.

  • Drives a Mindset and Behaviour culture in line with the Mars Snacking behaviours.

  • Understands the Enterprise Planning target operating model, recognizes and rewards adherence to process.

  • Directly demand plans part of the portfolio.

  • Delivers the following through their team of associates': - Maintains forecast drivers for the portfolio, understands drivers of base sales trends (last year, previous years and YOY), upside and downside scenarios. - Assesses trends, risks and opportunities together with the Sales, Marketing, category and Finance teams. - Incorporates approved upside and downside scenarios on top of the system generated forecast at appropriate level of hierarchy. - Monitor forecast consumption versus forecast and work with product availability teams to respond to forecast evolution during the cycle. - Collaborates across the E2E planning organisation on risks and opportunities. - Collaborates with product availability on the short-term demand plan assumptions. - - Reviews forecast performance metrics from previous cycle (and collaborate with Forecasting Analyst where applicable) to develop an action plan to improve performance. - Drives deployment of Segmentation and FVA to ensure focus on value-add activities.

  • Partners with the cluster Supply Chain Director to ensure priority workload continuity during vacation / sickness periods within the cluster for Market Collaboration and Product Availability
