Hagerstown Community College Student Activities Assistant in Hagerstown, Maryland
SUMMARY STATEMENT The Student Activities Assistant is a part-time position responsible for coordinating student events sponsored by the office, overseeing the Student Care Cupboard, providing front-line daily office operations, and assisting with New Student Orientation.
This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week. Regular work hours are Monday from 8:30 a.m. -- 3:00 p.m.; Tuesday -- Thursday, 10 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m. with occasional opportunity to flex time for evening and weekend hours for special events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree preferred. Event planning and promotion, customer service, and data keeping experience are a must.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This position requires top-notch customer service and the ability to work independently. The assistant must be confident with basic technology and willing to adapt to new technology, comfortable providing direction to students and volunteers, possess strong organizational and time management skills, able to maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy, and able to employ creative thinking.
