Aerotek Apprentice Field Technician in Hagerstown, Maryland
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Field Technician to support our field service team while learning hands-on technical skills. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn electrical and mechanical systems, provide excellent customer service, and grow into a full Field Technician role. You will work alongside experienced technicians during site visits, assisting with maintenance, repairs, and installations while developing your technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
Assist technicians during field visits to provide customer service and technical support
Support on-site maintenance, basic repairs, and system inspections
Learn to identify equipment issues and help troubleshoot under supervision
Communicate professionally with customers and team members
Assist with gathering information for parts, quotes, and service documentation
Help with equipment installations and system setup following established procedures
Learn best practices for system operation, safety, and preventive maintenance
Maintain a positive, professional attitude while representing the company on job sites
Essential Skills
Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude with a willingness to learn
Ability to use basic hand tools safely (training provided)
Interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving
Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
Strong communication and customer service skills
Clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
Basic computer skills (tablets, phones, service software)
0–1 year of experience in maintenance, construction, trades, or a technical environment (preferred but not required)
Additional Skills & Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Exposure to carpentry, HVAC, or industrial environments
Interest in learning PLCs or control systems
Technical schooling, trade school, or hands-on training experience

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
