- Pay: based on experience starting at $46/hour + This site manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms
Shift Schedule:
Monday- Friday 7:30am- 4pm (flexible pending business needs)
- May occasionally be required to support night or weekend shift shifts
Description of Role:
The Site Senior Controls Technician is primarily an office-based role responsible for maintaining and preserving site control systems that automate manufacturing and wrapping processes and ensures delivery and support of Factory Controls and IT-related systems in compliance with applicable global and regional standards.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Technical degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls, or Automation OR 5+ years’ experience in Factory Controls or manufacturing IT
Experienced in troubleshooting live electrical panels
PLC troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and email
Physical Requirements:
Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
5+ years’ experience in Factory Controls and/or manufacturing IT
Knowledge of server administration, virtual infrastructure, Cisco equipment architecture, database administration, and proficiency in SQL and/or VBA
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
Develop control concepts, design and code programs; implement solutions, select instrumentation, and create operator interfaces.
Support system management and administrative functions for PC and PLC networks, data historians, software version control, and web-based data systems.
Manage Factory Controls and IT infrastructure, including PCs, servers, thin clients, networks, and machine automation.
Provide technical development and guidance for Maintenance and Line Coverage Technicians.
Direct modification and installation of control systems following the Change Control process; transfer knowledge of control systems and electrical projects.
Support site, regional, and global capital projects by leading or assisting in project implementation.
Supervise work activities of outside contractors, controls technicians, and other associates related to the role’s functions.
Demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, program, and test applications for Factory Control and IT systems.
Handle any ad hoc requests as needed.
