Mars Manager - Tax Process & Technology in Hackettstown, New Jersey
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager - Tax Process & Technology to oversee the management of tax compliance and reporting software platforms, including tax compliance and income tax provision reporting tools. This role will play a critical part in supporting the Compliance and Reporting team to meet their deliverables, such as filing Federal and State tax returns and completing the income tax provision process. Additionally, the Manager will lead tax technology projects that leverage the latest innovations, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax operations.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) preferred.
Proven experience managing tax compliance and income tax provision software platforms.
Strong knowledge of Federal and State tax filing requirements and income tax provision processes.
Demonstrated success leading tax technology projects
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and manage complex projects.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Compliance and Reporting Software Management:
Manage and optimize tax compliance and income tax provision software platforms to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
Oversee system configuration, maintenance, and user support to maximize platform effectiveness.
Collaborate with the Compliance and Reporting team to ensure software solutions align with tax filing requirements and provision calculations.
Monitor data quality and system performance, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements as necessary.
Coordinate software upgrades, testing, and integration activities to maintain compliance with regulatory changes and internal policies.
Support for Compliance and Reporting Deliverables:
Partner closely with the Compliance and Reporting team to facilitate the timely filing of Federal and State tax returns.
Support the completion of the income tax provision process by ensuring data integrity, system readiness, and process adherence.
Develop and maintain process documentation, training materials, and best practices to enhance team capabilities and consistency.
Act as a liaison between tax, finance, and IT teams to resolve process challenges and streamline workflows.
Tax Technology Projects and Innovation:
Implement tax technology initiatives aimed at automating and improving tax processes across the organization.
Identify and implement emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning, to drive innovation in tax compliance, reporting, and analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to design, develop, and deploy technology solutions aligned with business and compliance objectives.
Establish governance frameworks to ensure technology projects comply with internal controls, data privacy, and Mars Responsible AI policies.
Track project milestones, manage resources, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
Stay informed on tax regulations, industry trends, and technology advancements impacting tax compliance and reporting.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance tax processes through automation and technology.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and security standards in all tax technology activities.
Provide training, mentorship, and support to build tax and technology team capabilities.
