Job Description

In this role you will be part of the Global Operations & Investor Services team, ensuring timely processing of transactions across ETD & OTC derivative product types. This includes all operational aspects of transaction processing from trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation and lifecycle events including margin & collateral management. You will provide local support for and act as the subject matter expert for issue management and escalation on behalf of the investment manager for day-to-day operational matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end electronic trade workflow with brokers and internal teams to ensure trades are matched on key trade information. Work with brokers, vendors and custodians to ensure timely settlement.

  • Lead to resolution any failed or unmatched transactions, working in partnership with front office trading desks where required.

  • Build relationships with Brokers, Custodians and key vendors such as Blackrock to ensure efficient processing of derivative trade activity and life cycle events.

  • Escalate issues as appropriate to management. Ensure that the correct parties have been notified and actively work to see the issue through to resolution. Identify trends of failed and mismatched trades to enhance processes and maximise efficiency.

  • Analyse and monitor department controls for effectiveness and recommend and implement process improvements as needed to reduce risk.

  • Work closely with wider Operational teams including Cash, Settlements, Trade Processing, Data Management and Accounting to provide effective post-execution trade support and downstream processing.

  • Provide SME/operational expertise for testing of systems, generating ad-hoc reports and assisting in miscellaneous projects, as needed, for enhancements or regulatory requirements.

Additional knowledge, skills, experience or training

REQUIRED

  • Working knowledge of the securities markets.

  • Working knowledge of the Investment process including Compliance, Accounting, and Administration.

  • Detail orientated with an ability to recognise errors/issues and potential financial impacts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks whilst working to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to take initiative and remain a team player.

  • Ability to adapt to change and flexibility to rapidly acquire knowledge of new operational processes.

  • Proficiency in MS Office – specifically Excel.

PREFERRED

  • Working knowledge of derivative products, inc. ETD and/or OTC including Repos.

  • Experience in market standard trading, middle ware and vendor platforms (e.g. BBG, DTCC, Markitwire, Traiana, Trioptima, CTM, TradeWeb, SWIFT)

  • Experience with BlackRock Aladdin.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work across time zones with colleagues in other operational locations.
