IHG Tax Lead in Gurgaon, India
Role Purpose
The role is for US federal tax activities and includes US federal tax return preparation and support, work within ERP systems, balance sheet review, and support of other US direct tax responsibilities as needed. The role will also require working with a US based direct tax team.
Key Accountabilities
Prepare US tax return supporting files for tax returns prepared by a third-party provider.
Ensure that any year over year differences are brought to the knowledge of the manager proactively.
Research tax variances and take appropriate action to prevent future variances.
Journal entry preparation for tax entries and re-class entries.
Balance sheet review and take appropriate action on any outstanding items as part of monthly tax account reconciliation.
Support US direct tax by gathering data for US tax return preparation, audit support, and SOX documentation.
Assist with various US tax forms as requested form business partners.
Assist with ad hoc or quarterly tasks that assist the US direct tax group.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education Graduate Diploma in Financial Management/ CA/CWA/MBA(F)
Experience Strong accounting and tax background
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Good conceptual understanding of US federal tax laws and practical implications
Working knowledge of ERP environment
Experience will be required in P&L analysis, balance sheet review and reconciliations, good analytical skills, process improvement experience, familiarity with automations and tools
Good interpersonal skills
Possess good communication/presentation skills and overall a pleasing personality. Must be willing to travel and flexibility around shift timings.
