Smurfit Westrock Associate, Mfg Ops (Ingeniero Proceso Trainee) in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
Opportunity summary: Responsible of developing projects to support multiple production areas, such as quality issues, OPEX programs, critical maintenance issues, among others, based on corporate guidelines, with the purpose of learning and understanding the different processes and proposing possible solutions and improvements.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock
\u2022 Learn about the different processes and production areas to provide support where required.
\u2022 Understanding issues that occur in each production operation, to diagnose and identify through a deep analysis of the situation possible solutions based on OPEX programs.
\u2022 Identify knowledge gaps during project analysis and partner with the Technical Department to address any concerns and contribute to the areas in need.
\u2022 Plan and execute relevant projects that allow improving a problem in the processes or production areas, such: as waste, technical or operational reliability, production speed, among others.
\u2022 Execute and monitor the proposed action plan for each assigned project, ensuring compliance.
\u2022 Prepare executive presentations for management presenting relevant process updates and improvements.
\u2022 Analysis of productivity indicators.
\u2022 Ensure operational integrity and compliance with Smurfit Westrock Group procedures and compliance with regulatory standards.
What you need to succeed:
\u2022 Required: Bachelor\u2019s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical or chemical.
\u2022 1-2 years of administrative and sales support experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
\u2022 Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and minimum English level B2-C1.
\u2022 Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate/advanced level in Excel.
\u2022 Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs.
\u2022 Diligent with great attention to detail.
\u2022 Possess strong collaboration skills with stakeholders across functions.
\u2022 Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
\u2022 Ability to work under limited supervision and to function both independently and as a team member.
\u2022 Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.
\u2022 Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with high enthusiasm and team oriented.
