IBM Backend Developer and Support Engineer in GUADALAJARA, Mexico

Your role and responsibilities
As a Back-End Developer and Support Engineer for IBM Fusion, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will also provide support and assist customers with using the IBM Fusion offering. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and create creative solutions to client problems, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and world-class quality. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Design and Develop Solutions: Design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, utilizing programming languages such as Python, GoLang, and Java.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand requirements and deliver solutions, using agile practices and DevOps tooling to ensure world-class quality and resiliency.
• Test and Deliver Offerings: Unit test and deliver offerings for different versions of IBM Fusion.
• Debug and Optimize: Debug and optimize solutions using kernel debuggers and user-mode programming, ensuring strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud.
• 24x7 Observability: Be part of a worldwide team that monitors the health of production systems and services around the clock, ensuring continuous reliability and optimal customer experience.
· Cross-Functional Troubleshooting: Collaborate with engineering teams to provide initial assessments and possible workarounds for production issues. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively.
· Create and maintain internal documentation for troubleshooting procedures, automation tools, and enhancement specifications.
· Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, clarify technical issues, and ensure satisfaction with resolution outcomes.
· Design and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline support workflows and reduce manual intervention.
Required technical and professional expertise
Proven experience in customer support, technical support, or a client-facing role
Strong background in software development, demonstrating expertise in programming languages such as Python, GoLang, Java and Shell Scripting.
Operating System Concepts and Virtualization: Hands-on experience with Linux operating system and computer virtualization
Strong skills in system monitoring, issue response, and troubleshooting for optimal system performance.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner seamlessly with cross-functional teams for shared success.
Excellent communication skills, essential for effective integration planning and swift issue resolution.
Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
Fluent in English
Preferred technical and professional experience
Exposure to Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift
Experience with cloud-based technologies, showcasing familiarity with modern cloud ecosystems and tools.
Understanding of networking concepts
